Do you remember Mark Water’s disastrous 2014 directory adaptation of Richelle Mead’s book Vampire Academy? The film is now on 16 percent rotten tomato and equally poorly marked by viewers, who wrote it dud at the box office. However, Peacock TV, and the executive branch Julie Plec intended the right false with a Vampire Academy television show that’s straight in the next order.
Plec knows his way around the Vampire kingdom as an executive of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals. Another veteran of the Vampire universe, Marguerite MacIntrye, is also on board. He wrote to another Vampire Diaries spin-off, Legacies.
Available information is currently a synopsis because there is no casing or expected release date. Tigbangi reports the official synopsis for the following:
“In a world of privilege and attractiveness, the friendship of two young women transcends their distinct class. Together they prepare to complete their education and enter the society of vampires. ”
I haven’t read the books yet, so I’m not sure if the synopsis is close to the original story, but I’m expecting a mix of book material mixed in and Plec’s artistic vision.
Clearly Vampire insanity will come to television sooner rather than later. Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles towards the AMC, something is said about a Real blood reboot, and Legacies still continues on Netflix.
