In what could be mobu as a defining 2021 opportunity, Amazon has Revelation kiosks to help with staff overwork Vice reported. Called the “ZenBooth,” it’s a small “thoughtful practical interior” about the size of an old school phone. There, workers can practice the company’s “AmaZen” program that guides them “through thoughtful methods of individual interactive kiosks in buildings,” according to the company. Booths are part of Amazon’s WorkingWell program Office has partnered earlier this month.
In practice, employees sit in a small booth equipped with plants, brochures, a fan and a computer that can play selected employee videos. As Amazon says, it was invented by an employee named Leila Brown. “At AmaZen I want to create a quiet space, where people can go and focus on their mental and emotional health,” he said. “ZenBooth is an interactive kiosk where you can navigate a library of mental health and mental methods to recharge the internal battery.”
The booths came at a time when Amazon was on fire due to employee quotas and workplace injuries. at the top the typical industry. It has also been criticized for issues such as daunting 10-hour shift and intimidation against the union.
Amazon is fueled by the dystopian idea of providing a meditation booth rather than dealing with worker rights. “I feel that living wages and working conditions are much better than a mobile Displaced Closet,” tweet user Talia Lavin. Another Twitter user, Alex Press, noticed that a portable restroom could actually be more usable (at the top).
It’s unclear when Amazon workers will be able to use the booths. Workers recently sued the company for failure to schedule the legally required 30-minute break then force employees to monitor their walkie-talkies if problems arise. Employees also complained about the “constantly unemployed” changes that they didn’t get to take a 10-minute break.
