Now that’s it theater opens nationwide, it is clear that movie fans want to see movies on the big screen as well.
Box Office Mojo reports that this weekend saw the most box office openings since 2020. John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place II took the top spot earning 58.5 million in four days, thus starting the summer movies time Fandango film commentator Erik Davis, breaks down why the box office win for a Quiet Place was one reason:
We can all be happy about the resurrection of going to the movies, but many are still wary of stepping into a theater because we are still in a state of illness. Agreed to Our World of Data, Only 41% of the U.S. population is fully vaccinated today, which is still a cause for concern. Vaccinated people can attend cinemas that don’t wear masks, but who keeps track of who’s promoted and who’s not? Individuals need to remain vigilant to protect their health because obviously, you can’t trust everyone to walk without a mask.
A Quiet Place II is in theaters now and will premiere at Paramount + in July.
