Spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars on something hard to stomach. But when it comes to the mattress, you want to invest in quality because sleep is important for your health. We tried a count on the mattress to find options across a wide range of budgets to ensure you spend your money wisely.
The good news? Almost all of our favorites are steeply discounted for Memorial Day. Mattresses are always on sale, which is why you should never buy one at full price, but this weekend is the best time of year to get the best price. Prices are low for the queen size version due to convenience, but other sizes are also sold.
Offer: Get one 1 Year WIRED Subscription for $ 5 ($ 25 discount). This includes unlimited access to WIRED.com and our print magazine (if you prefer). Subscriptions help fund the work we do every day.
Hybrids Vs. Full Foam Mattresses
Most mattresses available online are made of multiple layers of memory foam. There are a few all-foam options we like at the bottom, but we prefer hybrid mattresses and think you will too. The hybrids are also made of foam, but they have hundreds of individually wrapped springs glued between the foam. It gives you the very best of both worlds, from traditional box-spring mattresses and bed-in-a-box memory foam. Hybrids tend to be more supportive, and because the coils help with airflow, it’s probably cooler to sleep at night.
Our Favorite Mattress Deals
This is our favorite mattress right now. If you can’t control the high price, it’s best to rest the night. It’s usually $ 200 off of major marketing events; the base price has been raised to $ 100 since our last review, which is disappointing. However, it remains the best of the best, and you get two of Helix’s pillows for free.
Use code MEMORIALDAY200 for a $ 200 discount on $ 1,750 or more; MEMORIALDAY150 if you spent $ 1,250 or more; or MEMORIALDAY100 of $ 100 among others.
